Stuart Anthony The Photographer
Growing up in middle England with regular days out in Derbyshire and the Peak District. Stuart Anthony’s interest in photography began at a young age with strong encouragement from his grandfather. After the purchase of his first Practica 35mm film camera at the age of twelve he set about photographing the outdoors and the moods of Mother Nature. His work is very striking in colour and atmospheric, this is down to the early mornings and lots of patience to harness the best light and conditions.
Combining over 20 years experience from the days of 35mm film to the current use of the latest digital equipment. Developing his skills with constant learning and progressing to high standards the current camera of choice is the professional Canon eos 5d mark2 with a range of Canon L series lenses.
My interest in photography has also led me to the TV industry and often undertake freelance work as a 'camera operator' i.e. using a video camera not a stills camera. I have worked for the BBC, Channel 4, and various other broadcasters. Programmes including 'Robot Wars' presented by Phillipa Forester and Craig Charles. Channel 4 Racing, Dubai TV. Pop concerts including Status Quo, Ronan Keating and many more.
When you commission a photographer you are employing their skilful mind and creativity just like an artist using oil paints and a brush. The only difference is the photographer uses a camera and a lens instead of paints and a brush, the canvas remains the same. My initial interest in landscape photography has given me the necessary skills and understanding of composition and light which I now use for my commercial work. I like to give thought to all my shots rather than just point, shoot and hope for the best.
